Flags at Half-Staff for International Overdose Awareness Day
August 31, 2026 – September 1, 2026
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer ordered all flags at state buildings and facilities to be flown at half-staff in honor of Overdose Awareness Month and International Overdose Awareness Day. The flags are lowered to remember the lives lost to overdose and to show that Delaware stands with every family touched by this crisis. This gesture signifies that these lives mattered and represents the state's commitment to expanding treatment, improving access to recovery, and reducing stigma surrounding overdose.
Flag protocol
The Delaware flag at state buildings and facilities is to be flown at half-staff beginning August 31, 2026 and ending September 1, 2026 at noon.
