Flags at Half-Staff for Staff Sergeant Angel S. Rampersad

Governor Kathy Hochul directed that flags on all New York state government buildings be flown at half-staff on July 31, 2026, to honor Staff Sergeant Angel S. Rampersad. Rampersad, a lifelong resident of Ozone Park in Queens, was killed on July 17, 2026, during an attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan while serving with the U.S. Army. This proclamation recognizes her courage, selflessness, and the ultimate sacrifice she made while serving her nation.
