Flags at Half-Staff for Edward J. Miller
July 17, 2021
Governor Tony Evers ordered Wisconsin and United States flags to be flown at half-staff to honor U.S. Air Force Airman 2nd Class Edward J. Miller. Miller perished on November 22, 1952, when a Douglas C-124 Globemaster troop transport plane crashed into Mount Gannett near Anchorage, Alaska, along with 51 fellow servicemen. His remains were identified in 2019 after a multi-year search and recovery effort conducted by military teams, and were laid to rest with full military honors in his hometown of Evansville, Wisconsin.
Flag protocol
Flags shall be flown at half-staff in accordance with the Governor's state order.
