Flags at Half-Staff for Weber S. Underwood

Governor Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings throughout Kentucky to be flown at half-staff on October 6, 2026, in honor of U.S. Army Air Forces Pfc. Weber S. Underwood, 25, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Underwood was a member of the 28th Materiel Squadron, 20th Air Base Group, who was captured by Japanese forces in the Philippine Islands in December 1941 and died in a prisoner of war camp on June 3, 1942. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on October 6, 2026.
