Flags at Half-Staff for Evan Bath

August 25, 2020

Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin ordered flags to be flown at half-staff to honor Private First Class Evan Bath, a 19-year-old Marine from Oak Creek who made the ultimate sacrifice. Bath was killed on July 30, 2020 during a training exercise off the coast of California when an amphibious assault vehicle sank. His remains were among those recovered and confirmed on August 3, 2020, and returned home to Wisconsin. The flag order honors his service, selflessness, and dedication to protecting the freedoms the nation holds dear.

Flag protocol

Flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the designated date as ordered by the Governor.
