Flags at Half-Staff for Memorial Day

Consistent with a directive from President Donald Trump, Governor Janet Mills has ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff statewide in honor and recognition of America's fallen service members. This Memorial Day, as America prepares to mark 250 years since its founding, we remember the generations of American men and women whose sacrifice has preserved our free and undivided republic. Governor Mills invites all Maine people to join in honoring their sacrifice, remembering their families, and renewing gratitude for the freedoms they died to defend.
Flag protocol
Flags at half-staff statewide from 12:01 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 27, 2026. Flags should be raised to full-staff at noon.
