Flags at Half-Staff for Nancy Wyman

August 12, 2026

Governor Ned Lamont directed U.S. and state flags on all Connecticut state government buildings to be lowered to half-staff in honor of former Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, who passed away on August 12, 2026, at age 80. Wyman served as Connecticut's 108th lieutenant governor from 2011 to 2019 and was the first woman elected as state comptroller, serving in that role for 16 years. She was recognized for her tireless advocacy for healthcare access and her decades-long commitment to public service across multiple leadership roles in Connecticut.

Flag protocol

Flags shall remain lowered to half-staff until sunset on the date of interment, with the exact interment date to be determined by the Office of the Governor.
