Flags at Half-Staff for Terrian Earl Bailey, Sr.

Governor Tate Reeves has ordered flags at half-staff across Mississippi to honor Claiborne County Sheriff's Deputy Terrian Earl Bailey, Sr., who was killed in the line of duty on September 7, 2026, while attempting to disperse a crowd at a convenience store in Hermanville. The 45-year-old had served with the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department for six years and is survived by his wife and four children. This proclamation marks a day of official mourning and recognizes his ultimate sacrifice in service to the community.

Flag protocol

Flags shall be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds throughout Mississippi on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from sunrise to sunset in honor of Deputy Terrian Earl Bailey, Sr.
