Flags at Half-Staff for Mike Purzycki
May 14, 2026 – May 22, 2026
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer ordered all flags at state buildings and facilities to be flown at half-staff to honor the life and service of former Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki, who passed away on May 19, 2026, at age 80 following a hard-fought battle with cancer. Purzycki served as the 56th Mayor of Wilmington from 2017 to 2025 and was instrumental in transforming the city's Riverfront from an industrial area into a vibrant commercial and residential district. Governor Meyer recognized Purzycki's lasting legacy of integrity and service to the state and its communities.
