Flags at Half-Staff for Don Keller

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster ordered flags at the State Capitol lowered to half-staff on Sunday, May 17, 2026, to honor Officer Don DJ Keller of the Greenwood Police Department, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on May 11. Officer Keller, age 31, was struck by a fleeing vehicle while responding to assist another officer during a high-speed chase. He is survived by his wife Alison and their 2-year-old daughter. The Governor requested that flags over all state buildings similarly fly at half-staff as a mark of respect for his selfless service and supreme sacrifice.
