Flags at Half-Staff for Sam Hunt

Governor Bob Ferguson of Washington directed flags at state agency facilities to be lowered to half-staff on May 30, 2026, in honor of Sam Hunt, a longtime state legislator and civic leader who died in April 2026 at age 83 following complications from leukemia. Hunt served more than five decades in public service, including 16 years in the Washington State House of Representatives and 8 years in the State Senate, and was known for his work advancing voting rights and election security.
