Governor Tate Reeves ordered flags at half-staff across Mississippi to honor Judge J. Dewayne Thomas, the longest-serving chancellor of the Fifth Chancery Court of Hinds County. Judge Thomas dedicated 19 years to the judicial system and served the community with distinction until his passing on September 16, 2026. This flag order honors his memory and lifetime of service to Mississippi's judicial system and the people of Hinds County.
