Flags at Half-Staff for Elvin Hernandez

Governor Ned Lamont ordered state flags lowered to half-staff in coordination with the funeral services of Connecticut Department of Transportation employee Elvin Hernandez. Hernandez, 60, was struck and killed on September 25, 2026, while performing road maintenance work on Interstate 95 in Fairfield. He had worked for CTDOT since 2010 and was based out of the agency's Stratford garage.
