Governor Mike Braun ordered flags to half-staff in Vigo County on June 13, 2026, to honor Fire Chief Harold D. Osborn Jr., who passed away on June 9 at age 51. For three decades, Osborn served the Seelyville Volunteer Fire Department with distinction, including 16 years as Fire Chief, while also dedicating 26 years as an Emergency Medical Technician and serving as a Reserve Deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff's Office. His unwavering commitment to public safety and service to the community left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations of first responders.
