Flags at Half-Staff for 9/11 Remembrance and State Day of Service and Remembrance
September 11, 2020
Governor Tony Evers signed an executive order to fly flags at half-staff on September 11, 2026, in honor of the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The governor declared the day a State Day of Service and Remembrance to honor the victims and heroes of the attacks, including first responders and volunteers who helped those in need. The observance encourages Wisconsinites to give back to their communities through acts of kindness and service.
Flag protocol
Flags of the United States and Wisconsin are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on September 11, 2026.
