Flags at Half-Staff for Burlie W. Duvall III

Governor Abigail Spanberger ordered flags in Virginia to be lowered in memory and respect of Appomattox County Sheriff's Deputy Burlie W. Duvall III, who died in the line of duty on August 6, 2026. Deputy Duvall was struck by a vehicle while assisting at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Route 460 in Campbell County. He is remembered for his dedication to service, his loving family, and his selfless commitment to protecting his community.
