Flags at Half-Staff for Vicki R. Barnes

Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi proclaimed a day of official mourning in honor of Vicki R. Barnes, the state's longest-serving chancellor, who died on September 27, 2026. Barnes served for more than 31 years as senior chancellor of the Ninth Chancery Court District. This proclamation directs that flags be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds across Mississippi on October 5, 2026, in honor of her funeral and memory.
