Flags at Half-Staff for October 7 Victims
October 7, 2026
Governor Greg Abbott ordered the United States and Texas flags at all state buildings lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in solidarity with the State of Israel. This observance honors the victims of the brutal October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas, which killed more than 1,200 men, women, and children. Texas stands with Israel and the Jewish community to remember those who lost their lives.
Flag protocol
Flags are lowered to half-staff beginning at sunrise on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 and return to full-staff at sunset that same day.
