Flags at Half-Staff for Adam Zirbel

Governor Tony Evers signed Executive Order #276 on October 3, 2025, ordering U.S. and Wisconsin state flags to fly at half-staff on Saturday, October 4, 2025, to honor Adam Zirbel. Zirbel was a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources senior forester who died on September 22, 2025, after being struck by lightning while performing his duties at Kettle Moraine State Forest's Northern Unit. During his 24 years of service, Zirbel dedicated himself to preserving Wisconsin's forestlands, planting millions of trees, managing sustainable forest practices, and mentoring aspiring foresters.
Flag protocol
Flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
