Flags at Half-Staff for Nippon Dynawave

On May 26, 2026, a white liquor tank ruptured at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging mill in Longview, Washington, killing 11 people and injuring eight others in one of the deadliest U.S. workplace incidents in decades. Governor Ferguson ordered Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities to be lowered to half-staff on May 31, 2026, in memory of the victims. The flags remained at half-staff through June 7, 2026, to honor those who lost their lives in this tragic industrial disaster.
