Flags at Half-Staff for Caden R. Mullins
October 30, 2026 – October 31, 2026
Caden R. Mullins was a Logan County Sheriff's deputy and a Logan County native who grew up in Man. He began his law enforcement career with the Charleston Police Department. He joined the Logan County Sheriff's Office in August 2025 to serve closer to home. Deputy Mullins, 24, died in the line of duty on October 24, 2026, when a coal truck struck his cruiser as he responded to a call. Governor Patrick Morrisey ordered flags lowered in his honor.
Flag protocol
Flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise on Friday, October 30, 2026, until sunrise on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at which point they return to full-staff. This applies to U. S. and West Virginia flags at the State Capitol Complex and all state facilities in Logan County.
