Flags at Half-Staff for the Waukesha Christmas Parade Tragedy

Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin ordered flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on November 21, 2026, the fifth anniversary of the tragic incident. The observance honors six individuals who were killed when a vehicle struck parade participants at the annual Waukesha Christmas Parade on November 21, 2021: Tamara Durand, Wilhelm Hospel, Jane Kulich, Leanna Owen, Virginia Sorenson, and Jackson Sparks. Dozens of others were also injured in the attack, and the flag order commemorates the lasting impact on the community.
Flag protocol
Flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on November 21, 2026.
