Flags at Half-Staff for Gerald L. Danforth

Governor Tony Evers signed Executive Order #265 ordering the flags of the United States and Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on June 7, 2025, honoring former Oneida Nation Chairman Gerald L. Danforth, who passed away on June 1, 2025, at age 78. Chairman Danforth led the Oneida Nation with integrity and dedication, prioritizing economic development, healthcare, higher education, and Oneida language preservation during his two terms as chairman. Prior to his tenure as chairman, Danforth served more than 30 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1994 as Force Master Chief of the Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, and was a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm.

Flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
