Flags at Half-Staff for Herbert H. Kohl

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers ordered flags to fly at half-staff to honor former U.S. Senator Herbert H. Kohl, who died on December 27, 2023, at the age of 88 following a brief illness. Kohl served Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate for 24 years and was known for his dedication to the state, its communities, and its people. Beyond his distinguished Senate service, Kohl was the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team and a prominent philanthropist whose generosity supported educational and civic causes throughout Wisconsin.
Flag protocol
Flags shall fly at half-staff beginning Thursday, December 28, 2023, and remain at half-staff until the date of former Senator Kohl's interment.
