Flags at Half-Staff for James Mike Cooper

The Governor of Washington ordered flags at half-staff from September 26 through September 28, 2026, to honor former State Representative James "Mike" Cooper. Cooper served four terms in the Washington State House of Representatives from 1997 to 2005, representing the 21st Legislative District, and was also a firefighter for 26 years with the Shoreline Fire Department. His service to the state and exemplary leadership in the legislature, particularly in championing firefighters' rights and benefits, are being honored during this period.
