Flags at Half-Staff for Memorial Day

Governor Tony Evers signed Executive Order #296 ordering flags at half-staff on May 25, 2026 for Memorial Day. The order directs the flags of the United States and Wisconsin to be lowered as the state and nation honor and remember the nation's fallen military service members who gave their lives in defense of the country. The Governor recognized the courage, dedication, and selfless sacrifice of all service members across every military branch.
Flag protocol
Flags should be raised briskly to full staff at sunrise, then lowered to half-staff and remain in that position until noon, after which the flag should be raised to full staff for the remainder of the day.
